dydan: (true blood)
So, I started downloading the episode off the Intertubes before I went to bed last night so Jared and I could watch it this morning. Mind you, I have not read any of the books. There's a part of me that wants to, but from what all my more informed TB friends tell me if I read the books I'll just get pissed at how much the show deviates from the books.

WTF was up with the glowing chandelier descending in the forest? Are the faeries space aliens? Was the chandelier supposed to ferry her off to the Land of Summer's Eve?

I love it when Sookeh gets all feisty. I probably would have done more than slap Bill though. Bill just annoys the hell out of me. He's like Anne Rice's Louis...always being emo and whiney. If being immortal is such a tortured existence, go watch the sun rise and be done with it! But the whole brooding and moping around gets old after like...5 seconds.

We all knew Eric would live, right? I would however, like to hear Alan Ball explain why Russell looked like he had been cooked on an open flame for hours where Eric was still relatively pretty. Am I the only one who thought this? Eric was outside longer and is 2000 years younger yet he still has skin that looks downright fresh?

It was a little disturbing the way Sookeh laughed as she poured Talbot-in-a-jar down the drain. I'm thinking this whole experience has made her a little mad. I was torn between liking it and being afraid of it.

I'm putting my money on the Russell being around next season. I think Eric rescued him. Eric is bound to be pissed as hell at Bill for screwing him like he did. It might be beneficial to him to have Russell on his side. Russell may be old, powerful and mad as a hatter, but he's weakened at this point. And he's "old school" enough that if Eric rescues him it would make him beholden to Eric enough to unite the two of them against Bill. I may be totally wrong about that, but I am certain we have not seen the last of dear Russell.

Lafayette and Hey-Zeus? I've said all season long that I love the way they flirt with each other...but when they get physical there is absolutely NO chemistry between them. Watching them make out with each other is about as thrilling as watching paint dry. Bleh. But poor LaLa...he's all sorts of freaked out right now, aint he? I wanna bake him cookies, hug him and tell him that I'll keep all the talking dolls away from him.

Tara drove off into the night. I'm sure they arent done whipping that dead horse. I am so over the whole Tortured Tara angle. Enough already!!!! Its a waste of a good actress, IMHO. Can we see her do something other than get pissed or sad? Alan Ball, dont you DARE bring her back to Bon Temps until you figure out something different to do to her that's worth subjecting us to!

Alcide. Oh,he was a welcome sight this episode! He is my latest bit of eye candy, methinks. If there is any "type" of guy that gets my motor purring, its guys who look like that. Scruffy but cute, casual in a lumberjack kinda way. The kind of guy you could go camping with and believe him when he says you look sexy in the morning. I hear he will figure prominently next season. WOOHOO! Let's hope he's shirtless a lot.

Terry. I love him more and more each episode. And I'm terrified what they are going to do with him as Arlene has the Spawn of Satan.

Hoyt and babyVamp!Jessica. They are totally cute together. And obviously Hoyt's Mama and MunchkinGirl dont intend to let Hoyt go without a fight. What I dont understand is why Jessica doesnt just go take care of that. She's shown plenty of times that's she's very good at glamoring people. So why cant she just tell Mama to "forget" Hoyt, or love her more? MunchkinGirl should just be Jessica's next snack. And I was totally pissed Hoyt even sat down to listen to one word of that damn intervention they staged. He should have just told both of them to piss up a rope and walked off! But I'll forgive him because he's cute. There's something wrong/creepy about that house he rented. I'm not expecting it to be much of a honeymoon next season before Hoyt gets a real long hard look at how vicious Jessica really is.

Jason? Ugh....I've been so, so disappointed with his story line this whole season. And now that I found out what happens to him in the books I dont know that I want to see that.

I also dont like watching EvilSam. I didnt like DoormatSam, but this just aint right. I dont think he killed Tommy. Maybe he deliberately missed, or Tommy shifted at the last second to get away. I'm not quite sure where they are intending to go with his character from here. Right now in my mind he's probably the biggest cliff-hanger on the show.

The QueenSophie/Bill Matrix scene? Blah. Although I do love the outfit QueenSophie wore.

All in all, I really enjoyed the season! I love how the writers manage to throw little witty moments into the script and the cast Alan Ball has managed to assemble are all brilliant with the rich material they have to work with.

I just wish we didnt have to suffer so many lonely months without new episodes! Oh, HBO, 12 episodes per year is just not enough!!!

Oh well...Dexter will be out soon! And Weeds is back on the air as well.
