One of the guys I dated said his parents did the on-again off-again thing multiple times before finally realizing they couldn't make it work.
I kind of like to think of relationships as being exactly that...falling in love with them over and over again in every (or nearly every) interaction. I don't think you have to necessarily 'come out' of love to fall back in. I feel like I've fallen in love with Matt a few times since we've broken up. Maybe it's because I'm not good at simply holding onto it in the distance.
