I offered to do this for one of my LJ friends who was wanting to gain new readers.
With most social media sites, I can take 'em or leave 'em. But not you, my beloved LJ. I've been here for nearly 10 years (ZOMG really?) and I can honestly say participating here has really changed my life in ways I never thought imaginable. What started out as "therapy" turned into so much more for me.
I credit friends for that. People here are just...nifty! You've all enriched my life, given me things to ponder and taught me plenty about life, the universe, and everything else.
Now make friends! Pimp yourselves out! Hell, pimp me out!
Frenzy away, friends!

I go through spurts of posts, talking about my life, gaming, and whatever catches my fancy on a given day. Occasionally, something invokes my ire and I go on a rant.
That said, I firmly believe that one can never have too many friends, and welcome any and all who wish to friend me and read my ramblings.
My profile gets into more specific detail; feel free to review it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Date: 2010-04-02 07:01 pm (UTC)From:Let's see... the Readers Digest Condensed version of me (and do they even *print* RDC books anymore? I would read those at my grandmothers' house when she would babysit because I was sick.) I'm a 45 year old woman, who is on her second marriage. I have two daughters, although only Cassie is still in the land of the living (Shay, my 21 year old, passed away after fighting leukemia for 17 years in December 2006. You'll find both of my girls mentioned a lot in my LJ, because they're the best things I've ever done in my life). Cassie lives in Anchorage with my sister and 2 nieces, which is slightly more than 4000 miles away from Waco. Too danged far.
I read, play on the computer and try to keep my mental health issues from taking over. I'm pagan, and LGBT-friendly, as well as poly-friendly, kink-friendly, and ... well, pretty much all friendly unless you're an idiot and/or seriously conservative and want to take away/not give rights to my friends. Then I'm not so friendly.
I'm pretty much an open book, so if you want to check out my LJ, go for it. ANYway, nice to meet you. :-)

I just updated my profile page, with all the various social 'netting I do (tho LJ is the only thing I pay for, so it has a special place in my heart) and brought my "interests" up to the limit of 150. (I'm interested in things.)

Date: 2010-04-02 08:03 pm (UTC)From:I'm a freelance editor and published children's author. Slightly bonkers, but in an entertaining way, I think (hope). Getting married in October, but I do try not to bang on about it to the point of putting people into comas. Beyond writing and my life in general, I post about things that have made me happy and things that have made me cross in the news, plus general musings, sometimes on rather odd things. I've lots of new friends from another recent friending frenzy, so please do join up, and we can all get to know each other together.

So... about me... hee where do I start?
Female, 36, sci-fi geek, engaged, living in Essex, England. Gardener, birdwatcher, nature lover, cross stitcher, mother.
Fandoms: Ashes To Ashes, Life On Mars, Doctor Who (I'm SO excited for tomorrow!), Star Trek, Andromeda, Masterchef, Gordon Ramsay, Top Gear... errr, the list goes on!
I'm a curvy girl, proud of it, laid back and easy-going. I'm very wordy and post photos sometimes. NSFW stuff goes under a cut with a warning. I love a good laugh and I'm a bit of a ditz, but I generally love life.
Sometimes I talk about my disability, but I really do enjoy being alive and making new friends :)

I like werid movies and weird music. I have a goal in life and I'm currently seeking lj friends.

And now I'm going to go play in the sun!

I enjoy having some new friends on my LJ. I mainly write rants, my daily adventurous travels with my guide dog, my volunteer job and the fun in job hunting, life as a person with severe disabilities, my other volunteer committee work, etc. I do have a fairly large FList, so don't feel intimidated by that, as I enjoy reading others... especially those who are in the medical field, a career I'd have gone, but am stick with my administrative assistant world. Oh yeah, I grew up wanting to be a teacher, but ended up just tutoring people to use computers, etc. I enjoy following other's life's travels!
I am in Northern BC right now living with my parents with three dogs and a cat. Yes, if you are an animal lover, that's a bonus!
So yeah, that's me in a nutshell!

Date: 2010-04-02 09:44 pm (UTC)From:About me:
I'm 41 years old. In just over a month I will be the ultimate answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. And if you get what that means, I'll friend you. :-)
I live in Victoria, BC, Canada with three cats. They let me stay here as long as I feed them, pet them on demand, give them catnip and pay the rent for them.
I have an irregular work schedule that sometimes keeps me away from LiveJournal. Sometimes I post multiple times in one day. Other times, all you will see is that day's collection of Twitter posts. (I use Twitter to avoid making multiple one-line posts to LiveJournal.) If you're not a fan of Twitter, the tweets are under an LJ cut and easy to ignore.
Lately I've been writing a lot of posts about autism and Asperger's Syndrome, since today is Autism Awareness Day. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was 35 years old. I sometimes write about disability stuff in general.
I sometimes write posts that complain about my job, but I also know that I am very fortunate to even have a job.
Sometimes I write about my diabetes. I've had Type 1 diabetes, AKA juvenile diabetes, since I was five years old.
I'm what you Americans might call a "liberal." I believe in gay rights, women's rights, disability rights and poor people's rights. I also believe in universal health care.
I also write about my fandoms. The ones that get the most attention are Doctor Who, House, Torchwood and White Collar. I'm into fantasy and science fiction as well.
I'm also a fan of Mythbusters. I think Adam Savage is adorkable, Jamie Hyneman is cool, and Kari Byron is
gorgeoushot. Grant and Tory are cute.BTW, I'm also bisexual.
I have a boyfriend whom I refer to as "Monster." That's what I call him in real life, so I call him that on LJ too. I try not to use my real name on LJ because back about ten years ago I got fired for something I posted online, so I prefer people to call me "rainbow" or "rainbow_goddess." (Don't ask me why I use the lowercase letters for my nickname. I have no idea, other than the fact that LJ puts user names in lowercase.)
I think I've covered everything, but there might be stuff in my user info that I haven't covered. Feel free to ask me questions if you want, or to just friend me.

I'm not sure if my info describes me, I post most days, read prety much everything people on my friend'e list write unless things are really hellish at work and I'm snowed under with marking. i post lists of thinsg I need to do as I find I'm more likely to do stuff if people know I plan to.
Most of my posts are friends only due to my being a teacher, add me and I'll add back so you can see what I'm like
